Bible groups

A Bible group is a small circle of people reading Scripture together in Rosaria, up to eight to a group. Each member has a character of their own, and the group page shows how everyone's reading is going.

What a group is

A group gathers a few people around the same Bible. Everyone reads on their own, at whatever hour suits them, and the group page shows the whole circle at once: who has read, and how long each reading streak has run. It is meant for a family, a few friends, a parish study, or anyone who reads more steadily knowing that others are reading too.

The reading itself is the whole Douay-Rheims Bible, all 73 books, which any group member can open in the app.

Starting a group, and joining one

One person starts the group and is given a short invite code. The code is a plain string of letters and numbers, easy to read out or send in a message. Anyone with the code joins the group in a moment, with no invitation to hunt down and no email list to manage. A group holds up to eight people.

The person who starts the group keeps it. Members can leave when they wish, and the group stays with the reading of those who remain.

Reading streaks, and why they are real

Opening a chapter records that you read it. The streak counts the days on which a chapter was actually opened, not the days the app was merely launched, so what the group sees is reading that happened. Each member's streak sits on the group page beside their character, in plain sight, so a quiet week and a steady one look different.

The characters

Each member has a small drawn character, built from a few choices of hair, colour and clothing. It is the member's mark in the group, the way a name and a face are in a room. Nobody has to use their real name; the group shows the nickname the reader chose. The ring of characters is laid out so that every one of the eight stays visible, with each member's streak as a small badge beside their figure.

What you need

An account, and it is free. Bible groups belong to a signed-in reader, and the same account carries the group from one device to another. Reading the Bible itself, and praying the Rosary, need no account at all.

Questions people ask

How many people fit in a group?

Eight. A group larger than that is better split into two.

Does everyone read the same chapter?

No. Each member reads where they like. The group follows the reading, not a schedule.

Can I be in more than one group?

Yes. A reader can belong to more than one group, and each shows its own circle and its own streaks.
