Highlights and notes

In the Bible reader a signed-in reader can mark a passage and say why it was marked. The colour and the note are kept with the account, so the page opens the same way wherever you read from.

Marking a passage

Select a passage and mark it in one of a few colours. The colour is yours to use as you like: one for a promise to return to, one for a line that answered a question, one for something to look up later. The marking follows the verse rather than the page, so reflowing the text or changing the reading theme does not move it.

Adding a note

A mark can also carry a short note, a line or two about why the passage was kept. The note sits with the verse, ready when you come back to it, and stays out of the way when you are only reading. Notes are for the reader; nothing is shared with a Bible group or with anyone else.

Kept with the account

Highlights and notes belong to your account, which is what lets them travel. Mark a verse on a phone in the morning and it is there on a tablet in the evening, in the same place and the same colour. The account is free.

What stays the same

Reading the Bible needs no account, and neither does the Rosary. The Douay-Rheims opens for anyone, every chapter, read or heard in five themes. Highlights and notes are the part that is kept, so they are the part that asks for a reader to keep them. Without an account the reader simply works as it always did.

Questions people ask

How many colours are there?

A few. The set is small on purpose, so the marks stay few enough to mean something.

Can I change or remove a mark?

Yes. A mark can be changed to another colour or removed, and a note edited or deleted, at any time.

Are my notes private?

Yes. They are kept with your account and are not shown to other readers or to Bible groups.
